JOG: The 16th Charity Midnight Run 2013

If you’re up for staying up late and off the booze, here’s a healthy and satisfying alternative – the annual midnight charity run. This is the only race in Bangkok held in the wee hours, allowing runners to enjoy cooler temperatures as they sweat it out. So it’s no surprise over 5,000 participants will be competing with all proceeds being donated to charities such as “Chalerm Prakiat School” and “Baan Gerda,” which support children who are either infected with HIV or have lost parents to the disease.
12am. 1,000 THB (for charity) with raffle entry. Amari Watergate Bangkok, Petchaburi Road. BTS Siam Station.

Remember that little indie ditty from the movie Juno? Adam Green happened to be the guy plucking away on “Anything Else But You,” and now he’s in Bangkok on a solo tour. Expect an abstract blend of grunge, blues and jazz from the New Yorker, who also identifies as an artist and filmmaker. Opening bands are Part Time Musicians and Wednesday.
8pm. THB 900. Mongkol RCA Studio. MRT Petchaburi Station.
