From Christmas to Bastille Day, you can always trust Gossip to put together something splendid for a holiday. Lovers’ Evening on Thursday and Friday is no exception: the Thong Lor restaurant and bar is offering up a four-course meal from Thai celebrity chef, Bunn Boriboon. For THB 3,500 per person, Thursday’s guests can enjoy live jazz music and two hours of free flow tipple. The dreamy main courses include fillet steak shitake and olive-crusted salmon topped with caviar. Friday’s set is cheaper at THB 3,000 but alcohol can only be served after midnight because of the Buddhist holiday, Makha Bucha. Take note: you must pay beforehand to reserve a table!

Thursday and Friday, 7:30 pm. THB 3,500 per person. Gossip, Thong Lor 15. BTS Thong Lor.

Valentines Eve: Crunk Love

And in Sathon, Valentine’s Day gets unconventionally weird and artsy at Jam – but what else did you expect? Unchalee Anantawat, Speedy Grandma art gallery founder, will be throwing up projections and full motion visuals soundtracked by some future garage and funk from DJ Remy Gold. Free entry, cheap drinks and lots of feel good vibes to go around (as promised by the Facebook event page) definitely makes having a sweetheart seem highly overrated.

8 pm. Free entry. Jam, 41 Soi Rong Nam Kang, Sathorn. BTS Surasak.

Love Sucks. Just Dance.

This singles party is geared towards gay guys and girls with a hankering to dance – but as with all of Go Grrrls parties, everybody is welcome, no matter which way cupid’s arrow bends. Look out for a finessed selection of catchy, boogie-friendly indie rock and disco hits from David Bowie to Blondie, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more. Wearing uncomfortable shoes is just not an option.

9:30 pm. THB100. Fish (third floor), Cosmic Café. Royal City Avenue. MRT Petchaburi.

A Night Before Valentine

We’re not quite sure what shade strawberry red is, but that’s the dress code nonetheless for this party at hi-so dance haven, Demo. Longtime party promoters Clap and Bangkok nightlife website Siam2nite are behind this one, coming hot on the heels of its “Back to School Tokyo” collaboration last month.

10 pm. Dress code: strawberry red. Demo, Thong Lor 10. BTS Thong Lor.

What A Difference A Day Makes

Not to be outdone, Quince is offering the Don Juan of all romantic dinners – a five course set menu by Chef Blair Mathieson (THB 3,600 per couple) with an optional bottle of Louis Roederer champagne on the side (THB 2,700). Around 9 pm, look out for some quixotic jazz and blues from Ketihen Carter and band.

Thursday and Friday, 6:30 pm. THB 3,600 per couple. Quince Eatery & Bar, Sukhumvit 45. BTS Phrom Pong.

Friday

Valentine’s Dinner Party

Nest Rooftop Lounge is serving up a more modest three-course Valentine’s dinner, including coconut chicken curry and mustard-crusted lamb. But where it may be outdone by Bangkok’s more highfalutin restaurants, it hopes to make up for by throwing a kick-ass dance party with lots of Campari cocktails and hip hop, electro and old school funk from Bangkok Invaders’ DJ SG. To remember this special occasion, couples can even get a free Valentine’s portrait from 8 pm until midnight. Awww!

6 pm. THB 2,000 per person. Nest Rooftop Lounge, Sukhumvit 11. BTS Nana.
