Enter the dreaming when a multi-sensory digital art installation arrives in Bangkok for one month, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Australia’s indigenous arts, culture, and creativity.
Previously held in Australia and Europe, Walking Through a Songline is coming to the Thailand Creative & Design Center next week with Australia’s ancient knowledge and identity captured in an immersive experience of sound and vibrant imagery.
The installation takes visitors into light projections that create a representation of a songline – also called a “dreaming track” – that’s used in Aboriginal culture to navigate the land by repeating words of a song.
The exhibition is developed by the National Museum of Australia and Melbourne-based artist duo Mosster Studio, whose works are known to merge art, design, and technology.
Admission is free. The exhibition will run 10:30am until 7pm, Oct. 4 through Nov. 6 at the center in Bangkok’s Bang Rak district. The venue is closed Mondays.
The exhibition is to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Australia. After the Bangkok exhibition, it will move to Cambodia and other Southeast Asian countries.
