As two of the greatest action movie stars that Southeast Asia has ever produced, fight fans have had many a heated debate over who would come out on top in a no-holds-barred battle between Muay Thai master Tony Jaa, and Indonesian Iko Uwais, star of the critically-acclaimed “The Raid” and its sequel.

Those fanboy debates will soon be answered on the silver screen, as teased in the recently released trailer for “Triple Threat,” which will feature Jaa, Iko, and the fearsome Tiger Chen (perhaps best known as Keanu Reeve’s real-life martial arts guru and on-screen adversary in the film “Man of Tai Chi”).

From the brief flashes of their brutal fight at the end, it looks like Iko will have his work cut out for him.

Although it’s pretty clear that “Triple Threat” is basically going to be a series of badass action and intricately choreographed fight scenes, the story stringing them together is about a team of mercenaries tasked with taking out a group of professional assassins before they can fulfill the hit contract on a billionaire’s daughter.

In addition to Iko, Jaa, and Chen, the movie features some other fan favorite action stars including Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins (best known for the cult-hit prison fight ‘Undisputed’ film series).

Chad Stahelski, the former stuntman who helmed the critically-acclaimed “John Wick” films, both of which are revered by action movie fans for their brutal and innovative action sequences, was originally attached to direct. While he ultimately stepped aside in favor of Jesse V. Johnson, he’s still reportedly being credited with “orchestrating the movie’s action design”.

We’re super pumped for this film and can’t wait to watch it once it hits the big screen. In the meantime, who do you think will come out on top in the battle between Iko Uwai and Tony Jaa? Let us know in the comments.
