Returning for its sixth run in our city, the annual Hotel Art Fair will be back in Bangkok later this month with a free-to-enter exhibition showcasing a diverse selection of works by local and international artists. This year, it’s being hosted by the W Hotel located in the business district of Sathorn.
In case you’re not yet familiar with the fair, here’s how it’s usually set up: Typically, a Bangkok hotel offers up several floors of its property to artists and galleries from around the world (mostly from around Asia), with each taking a room to use as its exhibiting space. Over the course of two days, visitors can wander from room to room checking out the art, mingle, and sometimes even get face time with the gallerists and artists.
And, there are usually cocktails (gratis!) provided by various alcohol sponsors throughout the weekend.

The main draw at last year’s event was a collection of 20 dark comedic pieces by Spanish illustrator Joan Cornella, while this year, event promoters are highlighting the playful interactive creations of emerging Thai digital artist Purin Phanichphant.
Hotel Art Fair has been hosted annually since 2013 by the Bangkok-based design consultancy Farmgroup. This year, the organizers have put together the exhibition under the theme “Breaking Boundaries.”
The event will run from 11am through midnight from June 22 to 23 at the W Bangkok located in the heart of Sathorn area, just steps away from BTS Chong Nonsi.
Admission is free, though advanced online registration is required for visitors.
