Blowing up in 2001 with their debut album Is This It—featuring immortal tunes like “Last Night” and “Hard to Explain”—The Strokes have been one of the few rock bands from the early noughties to have survived and thrived.

On July 18, they’ll make their way to Bangkok.

Tickets go on sale Thursday via Ticketmelon for the one-night stop at the Thunder Dome near Impact Muang Thong Thani. Both seated and standing zones start at THB3,000.

At the turn of the millennium, the White Stripes were big, the Hives rocked the world, and Pulp blew up in America. Few 2000s rock bands have been able to remain as popular and relevant as the Strokes.

Made up of Julian Casablancas, Nikolai Fraiture, Albert Hammond Jr., Fabrizio Moretti, and Nick Valensi, the unapologetically retro sound of the Strokes has endured for six studio albums, most recently The New Abnormal in 2020.

Bangkok will be the second stop on the Asian leg of its tour after Hong Kong, and then the band will play Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.
