Thailand’s first Tourist Court to be opened in Pattaya tomorrow

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced that Thailand’s first Tourist Court will be opened tomorrow in Pattaya to shorten the hearing process.

Tourist Courts will be tasked with ensuring the safety and service of both Thais and foreigners. Theft, physical violence and rape are the top three crimes in Pattaya. These cases, normally requiring a month to proceed the hearing, will only take two weeks. For minor cases, the process could end in one day.

To support the fast growing tourism industry, the project will be expanded to six other areas – Bangkok’s Patumwan and Dusit districts, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Samui, Khaosod reported.
