Miss Grand Thailand, one of the top beauty contests in Thailand, shocked fans with a Facebook announcement yesterday that it had fired the winner from their Lampang province competition after finding out that she’s competing in another beauty contest.
Miss Grand Thailand, which holds provincial beauty contests in all 76 of the country’s provinces and then has all of the winners compete for the grand prize, has stripped Juthamas Pothong off her “Miss Grand Thailand Lampang” title.
According to the post, the reason the northern beauty queen lost her crown was that she had violated the pageant’s rules by competing in another contest without obtaining their permission.
“For this reason, the committee of Miss Grand Thailand would like to revoke Juthamas Pothong title of Miss Grand Thailand Lampang 2018. She is no longer allowed to take part in a Miss Grand Thailand competition in any province and has been blacklisted forever. Effective immediately.”
Blacklisted forever.
While they did not name which contest got Juthamas fired, on Saturday, her name appeared on a list of the 25 finalists in Miss International Thailand, a way less prestigious contest.
On social media, Juthamas appears to be a fan favorite, as her photo has been shared over 500 times.
