A semi-comatose taxi driver is seen in footage just leaning back with his arms at rest was shared online by a terrified passenger and made headlines in several media outlets today.
Bunapha Seethan said she got a taxi from Din Daeng to Bang Kapi district yesterday only to become alarmed when her driver chose to pilot the vehicle using only his knees.
When confronted about his driving technique, the driver explained that he is become quite masterful at knee-based driving.
“I tried to warn him,” Bunapha said. “I asked him if he was going to fall asleep, and he just said ‘I’ve been driving like this for 10 years. I’m used to it. Don’t be afraid!’”
Bunapha added she got out of the car as soon as it came down to regular streets from the highway.
