South East Asia’s newest airline launches in Bangkok with flights to Japan

The region’s newest airline – Asia Atlantic Airlines – will begin its first flights this later this month between Thailand and Japan.

The airline, which is a partnership between Japan’s HIS Group and Thailand’s Baiyoke Group of Hotels, will have flights running from Suvarnabhumi to Tokyo and Osaka.

The initial launch of service from Bangkok to Tokyo and Osaka is due to the visa waiver implemented by the Japanese government, which will increase the number of Thai visitors to Japan.

A spokesperson stated that the reason why the airline is named “Asia Atlantic” is because it wants to take the Pan-Asian Airline out of the Pacific, as is very common.

The airline hopes to expand to serve China, South Korea, Guam and Hawaii, Business Traveller Asia-Pacific reported
