An open-air mall by the river is preparing to shake off its pandemic sorrows with a big revamp that will add some Disney to the mix.
Asset World Corp. announced a partnership with The Walt Disney Co. to bring some Disney magic to Asiatique the Riverfront.
No date was given, nor were any specifics of what that meant beyond a vague reference to a “world class magical experience.”
It comes as Asiatique, which opened April 2012, celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Apart from the Disney deal, Asset World has added new attractions to attract more visitors including a museum, arts space, and an antique-style vessel dubbed the Sirimahannop, which serves as a restaurant and bar.
Asset World’s also wants to build a high-end Marriott hotel and residences and a skyscraper by famed architect Adrian Smith, who designed Shanghai’s Jin Mao Tower and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
