Scotland’s Franz Ferdinand to play Bangkok’s Very Festival

Franz Ferdinand will perform late November at Bangkok’s three-day Very Festival.

The rock quartet, best known for hits such as Take Me Out and Do You Want To, will perform Nov. 26, the second day of the fest.

Other announced acts include American pop singer John K and chill house duo Fiji Blue.

In early July, the three-day music festival announced a slate of international artists including Lauv, Keshi, Boy Pablo, Adoy and Joan. Local acts include Violette Wautier, Numcha, Phum Viphurit, Hybs, and more.

Very Festival, organized by Very Radio, will take place at the Thunder Dome in Muang Thong Thani. It debuted in 2019 at the Show DC shopping mall, with a plethora of indie artists and bands including The Marias, Nothing But Thieves, Sticky Fingers, FKJ, and Tahiti 80.

Tickets for individual days are available via Ticketmelon for THB3,200.

Franz Ferdinand was founded in 2001 and consists of Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Julian Corrie, Dino Bardot, and Audrey Tait. In March, they released a greatest hits record, Hits to the Head.

Often credited as one of the pioneers of the post-punk revival genre in the United Kingdom, the group’s 2004 self-titled debut album won the Mercury Prize and a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album.
