The Phrom Phong crowd have long wondered what would become of that green building at the corner of Soi Sukhumvit 31 and Soi Phrom Chit. The answer is a hotel called Public House.
The hotel is set to open on March 1 but the ground floor’s restaurant, bar, and coworking space are already open. With wall art from Ploenchan Mook Vinyaratn, 72 pieces of custom-designed furniture upholstered in French fabrics, and walls lined with tat and artwork, Public House is a social, carefully hectic space.
An all-day diner called Fest is currently open every day 11am to 10pm offering high-end comfort bites. Expect wood-fired pizza (starting at THB390) and don’t miss the josper-roasted garlic tofu hummus (THB290) or the earthy pappardelle mushrooms (THB450).
Past Fest’s busy open kitchen is a bar shaking drinks for patrons and beyond that the coworking space dubbed Forum. Complete with outlets under every seat, Forum is a fun space to bang away at the day job — featuring music, private meeting spaces, and a podcasting studio.
Upcoming events include this Wednesday’s Jazzman and Robin, which will feature live saxophone tunes blended with a DJ set.
Rooms and the rooftop will open March 1. The hotel in late March will host a Vinyl Fair.
