Bang Khunphrom, a palace built in 1901 during the reign of King Chulalongkorn, is now open to the public to visit for free.

Located by Rama VIII Bridge, Bang Khunphrom is known to be one of the most stunning palaces in Thailand. The design fully embraces Baroque and Rococo architectural periods. In the early 20th century, the palace was a home of Prince Boribhat Sukhumbhandi.
When the palace was built, Europe was going through a period of alteration. With the Industrial Revolution, architects and engineers were able to find new materials, new designs, and new ways to build revolutionized architecture.
Inspired by the European style, the beautiful design is filled with character and charm. The whole 33 rai (around 13 acres) parcel consists of 4 mansions and 1 bandstand located near the Chao Phraya River.

The palace is now a possession of the Bank of Thailand, which has turned it into a museum that is open to the public. You can visit the palace on Mondays to Fridays, from 9am-4pm, and Saturdays from 10:30am-4pm. The venue is closed on Sundays and national holidays.

If you come in a large group, you will need to book your place two weeks prior to the visit via a phone call. Bring your identification for a walk-in visit.
