New York post-punk revival band Interpol will come to Bangkok this year for the next Maho Rasop Festival.

The indie rock fest announced this morning it has secured the trio to its 2023 lineup to take the stage Dec. 2-3 at ESC Park in the northern metro community of Rangsit.

Formed in 1997 in New York, Interpol was one of the first bands to emerge from the post-punk revival of the 2000s and one of the more prominent acts from New York’s indie scene.

Their sound has drawn comparisons from the likes of Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Television. Its 2002 debut album, Turn on the Bright Lights, was critically lauded and made several best-of lists.

Its seventh LP, The Other Side of Make Believe, came out last year.

Advance tickets go on sale online Sunday starting at THB3,390.

Maho Rasop made its musical return last year after a pandemic hiatus with an eclectic lineup of bands and DJs across two days in November.
