One does not simply walk into a theater and watch all three Lord of the Rings masterworks, not unless it is the series 20th anniversary.

Given that came and went two years ago when we were all locked indoors, Major Cineplex is bringing all three of Peter Jackson’s epic films back to the big screen for three weeks starting later this month.

On June 29, pal around with Frodo and buds in The Fellowship of the Ring, then turtle up for the Battle of Helm’s Deep in The Two Towers on July 6, before following Aragorn all the way to the Black Gate on July 13 in The Return of the King.

The films will be presented in 4K, remastered glory. Fortunately for those of us not as long-lived as the ents, the films will be shown in their mercifully shorter theatrical releases.

The trilogy, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy novels, is among the most beloved classics in movie history and one of the highest-grossing franchises hailed by critics and fans alike for acclaim for their acting, direction, and production values.

The series won 17 Academy Awards out of 30 total nominations, including Best Picture for The Return of the King
