No surprise here but Bieber officially cancels Bangkok show

Alas Bangkok, it wasn’t meant to Biebs.

Despite optimism that Justin Bieber’s Bangkok show would go on at a later date after the singer took ill last year,  the local organizer for Bangkok this afternoon called it off.

AEG Presents Asia and Live Nation Tero announced Wednesday afternoon that the show was fully canceled as the 29-year-old singer recovers from his health issues.

“AEG Presents Asia and Live Nation Tero Entertainment regret to advise that following the postponement of Justin Bieber Justice World Tour Bangkok concert late last year, the decision has now been made to cancel the show,” the organizers said in a statement today.

Refunds will be made available from Monday until April 30 via ThaiTicketMajor.

In September, AEG Presents Asia, which is managing much of the tour including the Bangkok gig, said they thought the Asian leg would go on.

“Beliebers in Asia, we are aware that Justin Bieber has decided to take a break from touring and wish Justin a speedy recovery and admire his decision to put his health first. We can’t wait to see him back on the road.  Our understanding is the Asia leg of the tour is set to continue as scheduled. Stay tuned for more updates,” the organizers said in September.

Bieber was scheduled to play India, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan. His Bangkok show was scheduled to take place Nov. 6 at Rajamangala National Stadium.

The singer, who went public lastyear with his battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, a painful nerve disorder caused by shingles, said he could not complete his North American tour because of his condition.
