Into the night: Guide to clubs, parties and music this weekend

Welcoming all from distant lands or nearby sois, our party scene is always thriving and surviving, offering pop-anthem worship and bawdy meat markets to sinister underground beat-fests. Here’s some of the fun available this weekend:

FRIDAY

Gede Robi & Friends Rock The Space

Veteran rocker and eco-evangelist hits The Space tomorrow and will bring you a semi-acoustic night of “green grunge rock.” The part-time organic farmer from Indonesia is in Bangkok for his “Son of a Witch” tour. Singer-guitarist Ben Rungsrithong will open the night, with a “special guest from Bali” promised.

Delicate Elements

A night of good ol’ electronic music and drum ‘n’ bass, brought to you by Vietnamese DJ Dee.F with live sets from Nolens.Volens and DJ Dragon.

DJ Miguel Matoz

If you’ll ONLY DANCE TO HOUSE, catch Lisbon-born DJ Miguel’s debut in Bangkok. He is best known for his remix “Jesus is my Judge” for Madonna’s boyfriend. There will be three free drinks for ladies before midnight

Double Trouble

Lifestyle magazine Nylon Thailand and fashion line Superdry join forces for this event, which features acts playing alternative rock, pop, and EDM. Purchase tickets online.

Whine UP

The Spoiled Rotten kids have a line-up of four DJs to heat things up with a tropical night of afrobeats, funk, hip-hop and more fun music consistent with their idiom. Guests are encouraged to dress in something that exposes your midriff and allows you to dance away comfortably like our favorite bellydancer Shakira.
