Thailand was the most popular destination in 2011 for young expatriates and those who have no children according to a survey conducted by the HSBC Expat Explorer.
The appeal of a suitable working environment, healthy work-life balance, good accommodation, and easy access to medical services helped “The Land of Smiles” top the poll.
Thailand ranked higher than Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Switzerland in that demographic, but Singapore was still tops in Asia when it came to salary and finances.
Expats in Singapore earn the second-highest salaries in the world, HSBC found.
