A same-day hotel booking app for Asia called HotelQuickly has launched in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
HotelQuickly allows those seeking accommodation to book hotel rooms only for the same day, hopefully at a hefty discount.
The same-day hotel booking concept was pioneered by San Francisco-based HotelTonight, but that company has chosen to expand to Europe first rather than Asia. HotelQuickly should be able to benefit from the massive oversupply of hotel rooms in Bangkok specifically, and from a regionwide trend of last minute bookings.
The app is available on Android and Apple’s iOS and will expand across all of Asia in its next iteration.
HotelQuickly CEO Tomas Laboutka said that the app “will change the way business and leisure travelers book their hotel rooms based on cost savings and convenience.”
The app will face formidable competition in the online booking market though, especially from Agoda and HotelTravel
