New Movies: Batman v Superman, Resurrection, and Bollywood John Wick

NATCHA ON FILM — It’s pretty easy to tell which movie will draw the biggest audience this week: Batman v. Superman, which will have fans rushing to see it on the opening day.

Considering it’s one of the most hyped movies this year, I’m kind of skeptic over how good it will be. (Hopefully, I’m not the only one)

The film takes place after Superman’s struggle with General Zod as he becomes one of the most controversial figures in the world. The people of Metropolis consider him to be a threat to humanity, yet there are some that still look to him as an emblem of hope. However, as far as Batman is concerned, he still views Superman as a danger to society. He fears that if such a reckless power like Superman is left free to roam, chaos will ensue. The rivalry between them, fueled by vengeance and bitterness, escalates as nobody is able to stop them from waging this war. In the meantime a new dark threat arises, and it’s up to the pair to settle their differences and prevent Metropolis from being destroyed.

One of the main reasons why I’m hesitant about the success of this movie is because of how unpredictable Zack Snyder can be, despite being involved with directing a lot of high-profile movies in the past.

“Risen” is set during the time when Jesus was crucified and the biblical story of his resurrection is told through the eyes of a non-believer, Clauvius. As a powerful Roman Military Tribune, he and his aide Lucius must investigate the mystery behind the disappearance of Yahshua’s body in order to debunk the rumors behind the second coming of the Messiah.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this trailer was that it totally had the John Wick vibe, minus the dog killing part.

“Rocky Handsome” is a Bollywood film that takes you on a journey of a vengeful man who gets the only person he ever cared about taken away from him. He goes on a deadly rampage in order to find the girl, destroying anything that gets in his way. You’d think that the little girl that he’s trying to save would be his daughter but it isn’t. The film later explores the emotions behind the man who never had a daughter and a girl who never had a father.
