Natcha on Film – The movie “Freelance”, another sappy drama by GTH, will be a popular choice among Thais this weekend. A rebooted, less badass addition to the “Transporter” franchise is also coming out this week. Lastly, those looking for a decent film should watch the Korean indie movie “So Very Very”, which explores the complex relationship between a couple from different backgrounds.
Freelance
Despite director Nawapol Thamrongrattanari being famous for his indie films “Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy” and “The Master”, “Freelance” will be his first film shown in all major theaters.
The movie is about an overworked freelance employee who goes to the doctor for treatment of a skin condition. Over the course of their doctor-patient relationship, he falls in love with the doctor and things pretty much go from there.
Although this movie has a run-of-the-mill plot, the concept of a freelance worker has never been explored before in a Thai film.
So Very Very
“So Very Very”, a movie with a title that makes you ask “Why this name?”.
The film is about a struggling movie director in Korea, working hard to pay the bills and provide for his Thai wife. The two tend to argue because the wife feels her husband fails to provide for her. Meanwhile, the man is lost in his job and struggles to realize what matters most in his life.
The movie is in Korean with English and Thai subtitles.

The Transporter Refueled
The number 1 rule to maintaining a popular action movie franchise is to never change the lead actor. “The Transporter Refueled” ignores this rule. Before we had Jason Statham and now we have Ed Skrein, a relatively unknown actor.
The Transporter Refueled is about the new protagonist of the series, Frank Martin, who was a former special ops mercenary turned transporter. Frank is forced into playing a game against a woman out for revenge who has kidnapped his father.
The movie looks pretty dull and has transformed into a generic Hollywood action movie now that Jason Statham has left.
