One of these weeks there there just has to be an interesting movie coming into theaters. Unfortunately this isn’t one of those weeks. Well, for me that is.
The Age of Adaline
In this exciting second installment of the expanded universe of heroes, Tony Stark has created a robot named … Adaline? Oops, that’s next week.
At a first glance, Age of Adaline looks like one of those movies that came from a Nicholas Sparks book. “The Age of Adaline” is about a woman born near the turn of the previous century who, after a horrible accident, stops aging. She tries to keep away from others in fear of them finding out her secret. However, she meets a man who reignites her interest in love. So basically, this film is about a really old woman who falls in love with a younger man. Moral of the story: love is timeless?
I really wanna skip this one but the fact that Blake Lively is in it makes me consider otherwise.
Woman in Gold
“Woman in Gold” is set post-Holocaust as Maria Altmann, a Jewish refugee, fights against the Austrian government to claim artwork that rightfully belongs to her family. Not only does she want to claim what’s rightfully hers, but she sees it as a way to seek justice for the destruction that the Nazis caused to her family.
The only noticeable name in the cast is Ryan Reynolds, but then again I’m not a walking IMDB. This might be one of those really good dramatic biographies, but I think I’ll pass.
Shinhwa Live 3D: The Legend Continues
Remember that one Justin Bieber documentary that came out a while ago? I think it was called “Never Say Never?” (No, I can’t be moved to Google it.)
“Shinhwa Live in 3D” is another documentary about teeny pop music but this time focused on K-pop and possibly in 3D. Or maybe it’s just the third chapter of the Shinwa Live Saga? Either way, given Thailand’s obsession with K-pop and everything Korean, I think going to see this would be a great way to meet 14-year-old girls. (No, I won’t be there.)
