Mr. Big is finishing off three decades of hard rockin’ with a big bang through Asia including a call on Bangkok later this year.
The hard rock act’s Bangkok stop on its Big Finish tour will take place Aug. 7 at Show DC Hall. Their appearance in the kingdom will follow multiple shows in Japan – where Mr. Big is really big – in July followed by stops in Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia. A tour in America and the United Kingdom will begin next year.
The tour will end the band’s 32-year stint together following the 2018 death of drummer Pat Torpey. In 2017, it released its ninth studio album Defying Gravity. The next year, Torpey died from complications stemming from Parkinson’s disease. As a result, the group went on a hiatus.
In November, they announced they would hit the road again with a touring drummer in longtime friend Nick D’Virgilio.
Known to be far more popular and bigger in Japan than at home in the United States, the band is best known as a one-hit wonder thanks to soft rock single To Be With You, the music video for which exceeded 100 million views just last week.
