A greybeard of late-20th century comedy and High Minister of Silly Walks is coming to Bangkok, for real this time.
Over a year after canceling a planned show due to the pandemic, actor and writer John Cleese, a founding member of ground-breaking British comedy team Monty Python, will take the stage in July, according to organizer Live Nation Tero. Tickets went on sale today.
The 83-year-old comedian, who in 2021 wrote the well-received Creativity: A Short and Cheerful Guide, established a brand of deadpan humor along with the likes of Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin that has influenced humor for decades.
At his show, Cleese will riff on the dangerous silliness afoot in a dysfunctional world. Due to the pandemic, many of his prior dates were canceled.
Cleese will perform July 7 at the KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theater. Tickets start at 3,500 baht and can be purchased online.
