GMM Tai Hub (GTH), the mega production company behind several Thai rom-com hits, has dissolved after an internal conflict.

GMM Tai Hub, which was founded by the merger of three companies — Grammy Entertainment, Tai Entertainment, and Hub Ho Hin — announced on Friday afternoon the firms will officially go their separate ways on Dec. 31.

“The management of the three companies have different goals and opinions. While Tai Entertainment wants to take the company to the stock market to increase budget for productions, Hub Ho Hin believes the company is not ready to do so for the next one to three years,” the statement released by GMM Tai Hub said.

Hub Ho Hin fears that entering the stock market will create too much pressure and affect the company’s creativity in producing great works.

“Every side tried to negotiate to reach a solution for a long time but could not reach an agreement. Therefore we agreed that if we continued to operate without reaching a conclusion, it would cause damages to all sides.”

GMM Grammy will retain licenses for all movies and TV series produced under GMM Tai Hub, while ongoing projects will be released in 2016 under the GTH name.

GTH is mostly known for its rom-coms targeted at young Thai audience. Its notable works include “Pee Mark,” “I Fine Thank You Love You,” “ATM Errak Error,” and the controversial teen series “Hormones.”
