Love most fowl when French artist brings ‘Swan Lake’ to Bangkok stage

A French dancer and choreographer is staging a contemporary version of Swan Lake that fuses ballet and video to take aim at environmental conservation and corporate greed. 

The ballet was the creative idea of Angelin Preljocaj and features video designed by award-winning visual artist Boris Labbe to add depth and dimension to the 26 dancers on stage performing Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece.

The performance is part of Bangkok’s International Festival of Dance & Music.

Performances are 7pm to 9pm on Saturday, Oct. 8, and 2:30pm to 4:30pm on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Thailand Cultural Centre. 

Tickets start at THB1,500 and are available online The venue is located near MRT Thailand Cultural Centre.
