A young Thai couple has found sudden online fame fewer than 24 hours after they shared a video of their trip home. Their very, very looooooong trip home.
Boat and Fai had just finished a one-year Master’s program at a University in Nottingham, England, when they decided to make the trip back to Bangkok via a 71-day train trip instead of the usual skip the normal plane trip of about 10 hours.
They passed through 13 countries across Europe and Asia with backpacks strapped on their backs.
“I can’t remember what got into our minds,” Boat explained. “I guess we needed a vacation and decided to seize the opportunity. I only remember I asked my girlfriend ‘Do you want to take a train home?’ and she said, ‘okay’ – a simple answer that made everything happen.”
They posted a video of their experience to YouTube on Sunday.
Warning: The alarmingly sweet and romantic video might be offensive to the unhappily single.
