This year’s fest promises to be pretty spectacular too, with legendary Dutch DJ Afrojack headlining the event, supported by up and comers MAKJ, Bl3nd, and D-wayne.
Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Afrojack has made a large impact on the music industry and is a key player in the worldwide explosion and popularity of EDM. In 2013, Forbes magazine crowned him as #7 on “The World’s Highest Paid DJs List” and this year The Hollywood Reporter called him “a global icon” set “to conquer the world.” The talented producer and artist Afrojack is versatile and creative with his sound whether creating club hits or producing and remixing for the likes of Beyoncé, Pitbull or Madonna. He is adept at shifting between genres and playing with his sound and it’s easy to see why his skills are some of the most sought-after in the world.
A not-to-be-missed act at You2Play Together Festival will be the debut of MAKJ. The prominent up-and-coming DJ/producer uncovered a passion for mixing and DJing at the age of 15. He later found himself repeatedly invited to DJ countless local university and community college events in his hometown before the late DJ AM trained him to scratch. With residency at XS Las Vegas and performances at Ultra Music Festival and TomorrowWorld, MAKJ is also thriving as a producer. He has released a slew of hit tracks over the course of 2013, including “Countdown”, a collab with Hardwell on his Revealed label which went #1 on Beatport after three days.
Boasting a global following of millions, DJ Bl3nd will leave his L.A. home to explode his signature high-energy mix. Driven by his passion to spin the music he loved for a larger audience, DJ Bl3nd began handing out mix-tapes to local clubs and promoters in 2009. However, he had a difficult time grabbing anyone’s attention until he began posting live videos of himself dancing and spinning energy-filled, hard-hitting beats in his now-signature mask on YouTube. In less than three short years, he has become a sensation. Now with sold-out shows throughout America, DJ Bl3nd will mix his crowd-pleasing concoction at this shindig.
Another Despite a busy year with lots of productions, remixes, a slew of gigs at festivals and clubs and a world tour with Afrojack, D-wayne won’t miss the opportunity to join You2Play Together Festival. Having taken off at lightning speed and there’s no stopping him, the house music hotshot remixes Tiësto, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez. He is a star at festivals and in clubs. His records are released on Nervous, the oldest house label in the world, on Steven Aoki’s Dim Mak, Spinnin’ Records and currently on Wall Recordings, Afrojack’s record label.
Also having releases on labels like Spinnin Records, Afrojack’s Wall Recordings and Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak and remixes for Laidback Luke, Sidney Samson, the Bingo Players and Hardwell under his belt is Abdesamad Ben Abdelaouid, better known as Apster. He is now a new talent that definitely stands out from all other DJ/producers that the Dutch house scene has to offer. In the past year, Apster teamed up with Holland’s biggest dance export product of the moment, Afrojack. After his track “Bubble Gutz” on Wall Recordings, he remixed Afrojack’s “Take Over Control ft. Eva Simons” and produced “Brougham / Contour”, two tracks Apster made together with Bassjackers. His latest project is a collaboration with Nicky Romero “Bootcamp” also featured on Wall Recordings.
Added to the superstar line-up, local talents including DJs Cleo P, Skinny Mark, Zuper L and Gift OKB will open.
