Kings of Convenience, Phoenix to head up new Pattaya music fest

The New Year is right around the corner, and music fans already have a lot to look forward to.

A brand new music festival called Pelupo was announced this morning along with two headliners – Norwegian indie folk duo Kings of Convenience and French pop rock quartet Phoenix.

The inaugural edition is brought by promoter Viji Corp., which has previously booked shows by the likes of Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Bon Iver, and most recently, Icelandic post rock trio Sigur Ros.

The festival will spread across two stages on March 11 amid the same green fields of this month’s Wonderfruit Festival at the Siam Country Club in Pattaya.

More artists include Summer Salt, an indie-pop band from Austin, Texas, and Canadian indie band Men I Trust. The full lineup will be announced at a later date.

Tickets start at THB3,500 and they go on sale online tomorrow.

Fans may have their loyalties split between the fest and Harry Styles, whose concert falls on the same date.
