Japanese treats: Long-awaited Glico ice-cream hits Thai stores

Glico, the Japanese company known for its tasty treats like Pocky, will launch its ice-cream in Thailand next Wednesday in Thai stores after successful market tests.

From Jan. 27, Thailand will get a taste of Glico’s famous ice-cream treats like Giant Cone (an ice cream in a large cone with crispy chocolate and nut toppings) and Papico (sherbet in tubes). Yum!

The company launched the Glico ice-cream at a few minimarts three months ago, sparking internet reviews and a feverish hunt for the ice-cream goodies among locals, who always love a new sweet treat.

The ice-cream will be sold at some branches of Family Mart, 7-Eleven, Tops Supermarket, MaxValu and UFM Fuji Super. The company also has a franchise program for businesses and stores who want to sell its ice-cream.

If you can’t wait until next week, Glico will give away free samples at its launch party tomorrow at Siam Paragon at 4:30pm.
