Hong Kong artist Wing Shya, who captured stills for Wong Kar-Wai’s films like Happy Together and In the Mood for Love, will present his hauntingly beautiful photos capturing Hong Kong’s cool and moody aesthetic at a Bangkok gallery starting next week.
The “Wing Shya The Photography Exhibition” will take place from Dec. 3 through Jan. 29 at Hub of Photography (HOP), which announced the event yesterday. The gallery is located on the third floor inside the Seacon Square Srinakarin shopping mall.
It’s not immediately known if the 58-year-old Hong Kong-based artist will be in attendance at the exhibition.
In 1997, Shya began his collaboration with the renowned movie director Wong Kar-Wai on Happy Together, which continued with his work on In the Mood for Love, Eros, and 2046. Shya has often been praised for his vivid and tender images that represent the golden age of Hong Kong cinema, capturing in-the-moment intimacy, emotions, and atmosphere.
