Hundreds of Thais scramble over half-priced Converse shoes (VIDEO)

How much do you want those shoes? Would you risk being crushed to death?

A video of locals screaming and pushing each other to get their hands on limited supplies of half-priced Converse shoes on Wednesday has gone viral.

The video was filmed on the holiday at Central Ladprao as a hundred Thais swarmed a salesperson lifting a box of Converse shoes above his head.

As the salesman let go of the box, screaming shoppers, some with victorious smiles on their faces, grabbed all the shoes in the box. Everything was gone in seconds.

The video has been viewed over 700,000 times.

Some commenters speculate that some of these customers could be merchants, there to buy discounted for resale since many of them weren’t even bothering to check the sizes.

Then again, remember when a hundred Thai men camped outside a Nike store overnight to get full-priced, limited NMD R1 shoes?

Whatever makes them happy.
