Two of Hong Kong’s biggest movie stars, Michelle Yim Wai-ling and Simon Yam, were at the Erawan Shrine yesterday to make merit after the deadly bombing there on Aug 17.
For those who are not in the know about Hong Kong movie stars, Michelle Yim Wai-ling, 60, is a famous actress who starred in the 1976 hit television series, “The Legend of the Condor Heroes.”
Simon Yam, 60, is a veteran Hong Kong-based actor and film producer who appeared in the second “Lara Croft Tomb Raider” movie.
The two stars were invited by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in a bid to boost confidence in the tourism industry in Thailand.
Yim, dressed in a Thai classical dance costume, performed a dance along with other Thai dancers as a tribute to the four-faced Hindu god Brahma.
TAT believes the visit will help bring back tourists to Thailand, especially the Chinese.
TAT hopes to attract 16,000 Chinese and Hong Kong tourists to Thailand in October alone, reported Thai PBS.
