Platform nine and three-quarters, Ollivander’s Wand Shop and the Golden Snitch — oh, it’s been too long since we saw each other last. Now, 18 years after the first film debut of the Harry Potter movie franchise, muggles in Thailand will, for the first time, get to relive their memories of the HP wizarding world when Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone In Concert stops in Bangkok later this year.

The show was announced by local artist promoter Alcopop Group, which also hosted a live philharmonic orchestra performance of Academy-award winner Amadeus earlier this year in February.

Here’s how it works: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be projected on a large, high-definition screen while the talented musicians of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra performs the scores live, on-site — filling the audience with awe, tugging at our heartstrings in all the right ways. The concert will be conducted by Los Angeles-based composer and conductor John Jesensky.

As a collaboration between CineConcerts and Warner Bro., the Harry Potter Film in Concert series has been performed more than 1,000 times in over 40 countries around the globe.

The two-day event will run from November 23 and November 24 at Prince Mahidol Hall, a concert hall in Mahidol University. The venue is located in western metro Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom province. Ticketing details will be revealed on a later date.

In September the same event will be held in our Coconuts sister city, Manila.
