Photos of open-air, eco-friendly resorts are the stuff of Instagram goals. One of these treasures, located in Northern Thailand, has been singled out as among the best available anywhere in the world.
This month, travel booking site Orbitz released their list of the top eight eco-lodges on their global site.
We were hardly surprised to find Chiang Rai gem Phu Chaisai Mountain Resort & Spa on the list. With it’s remote, unplugged, jungle-chic vibe, it looks like the perfect place for skipping your favorite TV series and forgetting what time it is.
This getaway is situated on 2,000 acres of mountainous jungle and their motto is “live with nature, not above nature.”
Their open-air eco-huts are crafted of sustainable bamboo with breathtaking views from the private balconies and pools.
The resort’s spa focuses on all-natural, holistic treatments and uses organic products. Of course, you can take an on-site yoga class or trek over to the resort’s own tea plantation. But it might be nicer to just sip a cup and observe your surroundings.
The other seven resorts that made the prestigious list are in Belize, South Africa, New Zealand, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Egypt, and Costa Rica.
