Following the news last month that a new festival, Golden Axe, would happen in Thailand on May 19-20 and be headlined by members of Wu-Tang Clan, a mysterious announcement was posted on the event page over the weekend that the festival has been “postponed” and that refunds will be given for purchased tickets.

There was no reason given, no new date announced and no promise that, when and if it is rescheduled, members of Wu-Tang will still be on the bill. We’ve reached out to the organizers for comment and, if they provide further info, we’ll update this story.

Many commenters on the page were extremely disappointed by the news, despite the announcement that those who had already bought tickets will get their refund as well as a free ticket to the promoter’s Nelly concert on May 17.

Comments on the Facebook postponement message included:

Lex Herber: “Maybe next time don’t get ahead of yourselves and actually have *confirmed* acts before you put tickets on sale!”

Ben Aus: “Booooo. We were coming from Australia for this. Cheers for fucking that up.”

And possibly the most succinct comment came from Niki Schur-Narula: “SURPRISE!”

Yup, Wu-Tang seemed too good to be true, and the free Nelly ticket? Well, that leaves us a little lukewarm in herre.
