A calendar by Disney Channel Asia has 12 Asian singers in wigs and dressed up as characters from popular fairy tales, including the Thai singer who performed “Let it go” on the Thai version of the Frozen soundtrack.
As much as Wichayanee ‘Gam’ Peagrin, who is known for winning The Star singing competition season 4, looks stunning as Maleficent, the wicked villain from Sleeping Beauty, we’re quite perplexed by the whole concept of the calendar, especially the Asian version of the Scandinavian blonde queen Elsa.
The calendar will be distributed in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and Indonesia via Disney Channel Asia’s Facebook page, so we guess we should be proud of Gam and eleven other singers we have never heard of.
Another Thai singer, Oranicha ‘Proud’ Grinchai from girl band “Olives”, is also featured as a hot Ariel from The Little Mermaid. We have no idea who she is.
