If you love your martial arts with a dose of comedy, Full Metal Dojo (FMD) will fit the bill in Bangkok in July.

FMD just announced that comedy actor T.J. Miller will be flying to Bangkok to join their commentary team for the July 1 event.

Founded by Thailand-based expat Jon Nutt, FMD is Thailand’s current leading Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion. They have hosted 13 events in the past 3 years, both in Bangkok and Phuket. With a “global cult” online, FMD has become one of Asia’s most high profile martial arts organizations. They are also known to promote Thailand as “the number one combat sports training center in the world”.

Stand-up comedian, T.J. Miller, a voice actor and “breakout star” from HBO’s Silicon Valley sitcom, has appeared in many globally famous movies, such as Deadpool, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Office Christmas Party. His vocal credits include the Oscar-winning Big Hero 6, as well as How to Train your Dragon.

As for what he has planned for Bangkokians, you’ll have to be there to find out.

The event, “FMD14: Bigger, Badder, Blacker, Madder” will be at Bangkok’s Insanity nightclub. If you must miss it that night, be sure to watch the livestream in on the company’s Facebook page at 8pm local time.

Aside from T.J. Miller, the commentary team will be joined by former UFC and Pride fighter Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller, alongside MMA expert and Singapore’s Ritual Gym owner, Brad Robinson. This year’s hosts are, again, President Jon Nutt, and the local, Thai-speaking fitness celebrity, Mark Abbott.

The event consists of nine fights, including an “undercard of local amateur talent”, such as Strikeforce veteran Joe Ray versus Brazilian Marcelo Tenorio.

“Reminiscent of Thailand-set fight movies”, these FMD events are held in crowded nightclubs where fans may gather around the cage sides, close to the action.
