Luxury travelers can soon take a dreamy tropical island holiday sunbathing among cabanas, daybeds, infinity pools, and the tropical ocean – without actually spending it on an island.

While we love the party barge that is Bangkok Island, Yona Beach Club is taking the concept a step further with an actual floating tropical island it said today will open Jan. 23 at Phuket’s Patong Beach.

Update: Phuket torpedoes floating party boat launch plans

The boat is 1,200sqm and has three floors – a beach club, sunset terrace, and rooftop. The boat also has two swimming pools – one is 22 meters long and another is a seating pool on the second floor, the management team told Coconuts Bangkok today.

The venue will also offer some water sports such as paddle boarding and kayaking.

The floating beach club will be open 11am to 2am. It will be based at Patong Beach during high season, now through April 15. After that, for the low season, it will relocate across the island to the Royal Phuket Marina.
