The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles is presenting the exhibition “Fit For A Queen” to celebrate the 84th birthday of Queen Sirikit Kitiyakara.

The queen’s close relationship with well-known French fashion designer Pierre Balmain will be explored through 22 years of work and creation in this distinctive display.

Over 30 pieces of royal fashion for many occasions can be viewed. See outfits worn to cocktail parties, balls, and daytime gatherings paired with custom accessories by Louis Vuitton in the exhibition. Many of these pieces have never before been displayed.

With the help of Balmain and the House of Lesage in Paris, design sketches and embroidery samples are also on display to give context to the exquisite designs and intricate creative process.

The outfits will be presented along with related footage and photographs.

Running through June 2018, the exhibition is housed inside Bangkok’s Grand Palace complex.
