Okay the first fashion fad of the year has hit, and unsurprisingly it’s ripped from the political headlines.
Ever fashion- and trend-conscious, netizens anticipating the next major protest event on Jan. 13 are rushing to buy T-shirts with the message “Shutdown Bangkok.”
An online custom T-shirt shop has reported their most requested designs right now contain the suggestive political messages “Shutdown BKK”, “Shut up Bangkok”, and “Install update and shut down, Bangkok” in the run-up to demonstrator’s plans to cripple the Thai capital on Jan. 13
Another interesting design goes to the little black shirt that says “Game Over, January 13” which might suggest a new perspective for netizens who never knew this was just a game all along.
For those who rebel against trends, the shop is showing its fairness with shirts reading “Turn on Bangkok.”
Either way, in these divisive and uncertain times, we suggest being cautious of wearing the wrong shirt in the wrong crowd, lest you literally become a fashion victim of a fashion faux pas.
