Find your missing transexual, glam, half at Hedwig and the Angry Inch

The Walrus Theatre Co. is bringing everyone’s favorite transexual, Cold War, glam-rock musical to Bankok this Thursday and for a limited run of nine shows this month.

Premiering off-Broadway in 1998, Hedwig And The Angry Inch has since been staged around the world and was made into a cult film in 2001. Hedwig tells the story of a transgender, East German singer who fronts a band and searches for completion.

Directed by Dangkamon Na-pombejra, this Thai-adapted Hedwig transforms the venue into a bar to create a new experience for audiences.

Starring Chanudom Suksatit as Hedwig and Rachwin Wongwiriya as Yitzhak, the production will be presented in English with Thai subtitles, with music by Pakorn Musikaboonlert.

Thursday’s opening night is already sold out, but the show will be staged from 8pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, June 19-21 and June 26-28.

Ticket are THB1,000 and can be purchased through Banana Booking.

There’ll be after party organized by Dudesweet after Thursday’s opening, and another by Trasher on Friday, June 13.
