‘Explosions’ coming to Bangkok in April

Eclectic post-rockers Explosions in the Sky are coming to town April 29 to play a gig at Lat Phrao’s Moon Star Studio.

The band’s music is almost purely instrumental, with a cacophony of melancholic guitar riffs unfolding into larger, complex structures reminiscent of the spiritual undertones found in music by Sigur Rós. Their songs, often around seven minutes long, take listeners through emotional twists and turns in a cinematic style. The style is often considered “post rock” for finding new ways to wield the traditional tools of rock ‘n roll to create new sounds and rhythms.

Explosions is known for enthusiastic live sets with improvised riffs departing from their studio recordings. Tickets are on sale now at Thai Ticket Major for THB1,500THB.
