EXO takeover: Cops move Central Ladprao bus stop to make way for K-Pop meet and greet

Avoid going near Central Plaza Ladprao at all costs today, if you don’t want to be swarmed by thousands of K-Pop fangirls and fanboys.

Around 3,000 people have reportedly been camped out in front of Central Plaza Ladprao since last night as popular South Korean boy band “EXO” are due to make an appearance outside the mall at 2pm.

The K-pop hotties are appearing for a meet-and-greet as a part of promotional campaign for Korean cosmetic brand Nature Republic, which has just opened at the mall.

Pol. Panudech Sukwong, Commander of Paholyothin Police, said the meet-and-greet will cause a snarled-up traffic at Lat Phrao intersection, and so cops will move the bus stop in front of the mall where the band will appear, Sanook reported.

This will allow buses to drop passengers off out on Lat Phrao road this afternoon without going into the bus lane in front of the mall.

Thousands of people have also gathered inside the mall, several hours before the event, to get a glimpse of the popular pop stars.

The organizers have been heavily criticized on social networks as netizens said they could have chosen from several alternative venues to hold the appearance that would not affect the public and traffic.

Our top pick is the convention hall on the fifth floor of the mall, but then again if causing a traffic jam was a PR move to get people to talk about the event, it’s certainly worked.
