Marie Claire Thailand, another fashion magazine to fold

French magazine Marie Claire will stop printing in Thailand. The title joins several others that have stopped the presses on their print editions in recent history including Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, and IMAGE.

Operated by Post International Media, the Thai edition of Marie Claire will fold after more than 12 years on the racks. The magazine has been a bible for beauty addicts and has featured top local celebrities such as Davika Hoorne, Metinee Kingpayom, and Miss Universe Thailand 2015 Aniporn Chalermbooranawong.

April 2017 will be the farewell issue of Marie Claire, a source told Coconuts.

Last year, at least five fashion magazines decided to fold following loss in revenue. Among those was Cosmopolitan, whose CEO Pee Malakul Na Ayudhya said it could not handle the competition from digital media.

Meanwhile, U.S.-founded magazine Seventeen said that they could not sell enough advertisements to cover the magazine’s cost of production and stopped printing in August 2016.
