A global pandemic can’t slow down a homegrown talent seeking to elevate Bangkok to the next level of drag greatness. That’s right, Pangina Heals will open her own downtown drag bar – very soon.

The man behind Southeast Asia and Thailand’s top drag darling, Pan Pan Narkprasert, recently announced he will open a “home bar” dubbed House of Heals on July 17 near BTS Victory Monument.

For the first time, after 10 years of experience in the nightlife and entertainment industry, I decided I want to have a bar I can call home,” Pan Pan said.

The venue will offer everything from live music and comedy to showgirls and “experimental” drag shows.

“Every single night is gonna be different. It’s gonna be experimental drag, showgirl drag, live music of all of the best vocalists. So it’s all of the fabulousness contained within one space,” Pan Pan said, describing the venue as a “magical jungle playground.”

“It’s as if a plane crashed in the middle of a jungle. That’s the vibe we’re going for … like a jungle safari. A beautiful creature that comes into life in the night.”

As Pangina, Pan Pan is one of the most famous drag performers in Thailand. She has hosted Drag Race Thailand, a homespun version of RuPaul’s Drag Race, for two seasons. She has headlined numerous nightlife venues and was previously a regular at Maggie Choo’s, the Silom bar styled after a Shanghai speakeasy. In 2014, she hosted a six-episode reality queen series Queer As Fuck for Coconuts TV.

House of Heals opens from 7 pm until late. It is located inside the 515 Victory on Phayathai Road and can be reached from BTS Victory Monument’s exit No. 4.
