Another day in Bangkok is another new mall, but this one seems different from the rest
The Commons, a new cozy community mall in Thong Lor, has opened it doors and aims to become “Thong Lor’s backyard” and a gathering of premium shops and services.
Unlike the Central chain of shopping malls, which keep popping up across the city and get bigger every time, The Commons is located on a small landscape in Thong Lor soi 17 which used to be Palazzo Ristorante & Wine Bar. It is divided into four floors and zones with a hangout area at the staircase.

The walkway is made of wood planks, giving the space a feel of an artistic loft with plants thoughtfully scattered throughout the place.
“Market,” on the first floor, is the food area, and there you can find Roots Coffee which has just moved from Ekkamai. Another café to check out is Maison Jean Philippe for its authentic homemade French bread, while healthy eats can be had at Absolute Fit Food, which serves international dishes cooked from selected, healthy ingredients.

The “Village” zone is marked by Plant House, a famous florist shop which is constantly featured in fashion events. The zone also makes a space for dessert shops such as Brix Dessert Bar and Jona Waffle.

The third floor is “Play Yard” where Absolute Yoga is expected to open soon, while the “Top Yard” on the topmost floor houses Roast, a brunch cafe with an open kitchen.
More shops are gradually opening as the mall is expected to fully launch at the end of this month.
