Class things up at two Sala Sudasiri concert hall performances

Two nights of classical music are coming to Bangkok’s Sala Sudasiri Sobha this month.

First, three musicians from Thailand and Slovenia will bring a night of flute duets and trios to the concert hall this weekend. The trio, consisting of Thai flutist Chatchawarn Atthakijkosol, pianist Pana Yontararak, and Slovenian flutist Alenka Zupan, will play a repertoire including pieces by Mozart, Doppler and Kuhlau. There will be a cocktail reception at 6:30pm. Tickets cost THB500 and can be reserved online.

On Aug. 23, Japanese pianist Moto Shibui will hit the Sala stage. Shibui started learning piano at age 4 and has studied in Japan, Austria and Germany. She’s won a number of international piano competitions. In Bangkok, she will perform pieces by Bach, Rachmaninov, Chopin and Liszt. There will be a cocktail reception at 6:30pm, along with supper after the concert. Email Sala Sudasiri Sobha to make a reservation.

Proceeds from both events go toward the Gift of Life foundation to help blood-disease patients.
