Chinese firm treats its employees to Bangkok holiday

Infinitus China, an enormous direct sales company, is flying some of its employees to Bangkok for a seminar: 12,700 of them.

Acting head of the Tourism of Authority of Thailand has expressed her glee at the millions of baht expected to enter the economy this month thanks to arrivals from the mainland.

Juthaporn Rerngronasa announced yesterday the firm will bring its employees in groups of two-to-three thousand at a time, to travel in Bangkok and Pattaya starting this week through May 26.

Juthaporn said the tourists book at least a four-star hotel in Bangkok and visit the famous tourist attractions before heading to Pattaya. Each group will stay in Thailand for a week.

The tourists will take up 38,000 hotel rooms, 400 tour buses and 36 Chao Phraya cruises as officials expect to inject THB600 million in revenue from this one group alone, Sanook and Daily News reported.
